Amanda and Scott’s wedding was WILD – as in, it took place as the San Diego Zoo Safari Park in Escondido, CA. I actually grew up about 10 minutes away from the park, formerly and lovingly known as the Wild Animal Park. Not surprisingly, I was SO EXCITED to learn that they chose this venue for their wedding.
When Amanda first inquired with me, she used an email with her alias name, Amanda Venture. Being an adventure lover myself, I of course commented on the last name. We quickly bonded over our love of all things wild and adventurous. At our first meeting, the four of us talked for several hours and discovered countless things we had in common. Thus began a friendship that led to many dinners, a fun trip to the Safari Park, their frigid engagement session, their beautiful wedding day, and more!
Amanda and Scott’s ceremony took place on the Harusi Lawn, positioned in front of the cheetah enclosure and African Plains. A single cheetah gifted us with its presence for a brief moment; it was so cool to see, though we weren’t able to grab a photo before it dashed off (considering that they can run up to 80mph!). Their reception, The Woolshed at Walkabout Australia, was brand-spanking new at the time which was so cool! During Amanda and Scott’s portraits, their guests had the pleasure of seeing kangaroos, wallabees, and even the elusive Southern Cassowaries.
Speaking of their portraits, we got to go “behind the scenes” to get closer to the elephants! This was really special because Amanda LOVES elephants. We all were so grateful for being allowed to get just a little closer to those magnificent creatures!
Amanda and Scott’s Safari Park Wedding was an absolute blast and we’re grateful to have been a part of it. We know there’s plenty more adventure in store for these two!
